Myotherapy is based on the notion that relief of tension in the muscle followed by revitalization of the relieved muscle through stretching promotes healing and reduces the disposition of the muscle and the nerve to cause further pain.
Myotherapy is a 'trigger point' therapy. It involves pressing on small, constricted, sore points that trigger pain in areas away from the points and the use of massage, needling and heat to alleviate the discomfort. (Myofascia are the thin, fibrous sheets of tissue that surround and separate muscles. Ligaments and tendons are comprised of bundled myofascia.)
These dysfunctions can perpetuate from work place hazards, which effect posture which then effects productivity of staff.
